Now that the May Giveaway winners have been announced – yay Amy and Tara!!
It is time for the June Giveaway and when I think of June, I honestly think of yo-yos!
Especially these gorgeous hand-painted wooden yo-yos.
The color palette just makes me smile, and these little wooden toys can seriously fascinate the mind for a good period of time.
Video games be darned, it is time for the outdoors and some finger and string action!
To win one of these lovely yo-yos – just leave me a comment about who would win a yo-yo match in your house?
The winner will be announced on June 30.

I used to love playing with yo-yo’s! But for the life of me I could never figure out how to do those cool tricks iv’e seen people do! I had friends try and try to teach me how but I never could! So I just walked around with it going up and down on my finger! My favorite’s were bright colors or the light up one’s!
They are lovely colored hand painted wooden Yo-Yo’s! It is not
easy to say who would win the yo-yo match in our home! It would
be most likely between our two sons…
Many thanks, Cindi
I honestly think my 3 y.o. son would win b/c I can teach him something
new, and so long as it interests him, he’ll keep practicing all day until he’s mastered it.
Hands down it would be my husband! Since he lets our daughter win so many board games, I’m sure he would be quite competitive at a yo-yo match!
My 5 year old, I’m sad to say. Maybe we can finally master the art with her help.
My husband would win the yo-yo match, but my daughter would fight him tooth-and-nail for the yo-yo. She’s been dying for a yo-yo ever since she saw one in an illustration in Pinkalicious! (Though ironically, she’d beg for a blue one, since she insists on having all things blue, when possible!)
My hubby might have a hard time letting our son win. Hmmmm… perhaps this would make for a nice Father’s Day gift!
My sweet husband would most definately be the winner! Would love to win one of these!!!!
Arlen would play with it so much that the boys wouldn’t have a chance to even practice.
Our 5 year old loves yo yos! She would love the pink one,
I’d want the light blue and her dad would probably go for the green or yellow. Hmm, we may just have to buy the two we don’t win to keep peace in the household. Naturally, I have the best technique, but I would probably let the little girl win.
Thanks for the chance, S
It would be my husband hands down! That is if my dad didn’t come over ;o)
What a great old-fashioned toy! My daughter would love the bright pink yo yo!
I would win a yo-yo match at our house. First, I have greater dexterity than either my wife or my son. Accordingly, I will be able to operate the yo-yo with greater precision and force.
Second, my arms are longer than either my wife or my son, thus enabling me to strike them with my yo-yo and still be out of striking distance from their yo-yos.
Third, my greater upper-body strength will allow me to fling my yo-yo at them with greater force, thus causing devastating injuries, while any blows they manage to land on me will cause only superficial wounds. I laugh at their puny arm strength! HA HA!
So, in a hypothetical yo-yo match among me, my son and my wife, I would emerge victorious, if somewhat sad that I was forced by the Pajama Squid to participate in a vicious and bloody yo-yo match with my loved ones. I can only hope that they survive and choose not to press charges.
While not in our house per se, my Dad would win easily win a yo-yo contest, amongst all of our family members.
I’m not exactly sure what would constitute a yo-yo match or how one would know that they won, but I would vote for my son!
My 5 year old son would definitely win. He’s got a knack for teaching himself things with very little help (practicing and mastering the unknown). To name a few of his feats: reading, writing-with the help of his Kinder teacher, making his own snacks/lunch-I’m not kidding and just recently learning to whistle! He would love one of these!
My kids are still to young for playing. However I used spent so much time on mine in the schoolyard. I love the colours.
I would probably win because my opponent is only 18 months old.
I guess I have to enter this one after the temper tantrum my boy threw when I wouldn’t buy him a yoyo the other day. I won that contest but I bet he would school me at a yoyo contest.
It’s the simplest of toys that bring the greatest joy!
those are lovely yo-yos. i do not know if i could win a yo-yo match (or anyone in my house for that matter), but i’m sure the yellow or pink or orange or blue or green yo-yo would look good dangling from my finger as a nice accessory and fun play toy!
Well, if I had my whole family over, my dad would win hands down. If it was my little family of 3, then mayyyybbeee my husband would win. But, I just ordered some of these beauties and my plan is to practice. So, if you give me about a week, then it would definitely be me. However, my toddler amazes me everyday and he may have a few more tricks up his sleeve.
I think my almost 2 year old baby boy would win a yo yo match as he is really good at throwing things on the ground!
The contest winner in our house would have to be my son Kevin. He and his wife Maggie are expecting their first baby in August. He has suddenly become very interested in the games he played as a child and has been busy teaching his nephew who is 3, how to play each one. So sweet and a bit funny to watch him make wild gestures as he talks about having to repeat activities over and over again as the nephew shreaks, “MORE… MORE!!
One of these SWEET little toys would go nicely in his little bag of tricks for both the relatives kids AND give him practice to be ready to teach is almost arrived son.
