Oh, he’s so cute! I love orange and corduroy and cute and aardvarks!!! If I left the name picking up to my kids it would surely be strange, but my kind of strange is an homage to my Dutch parents…Neus (which means nose in Dutch).
Artie the Aardvark for my little buggie!
Well my daughter names everything what it is. Puppy is puppy. Bunny is bunny. So I guess we would have to call him Aardvark. At least she would learn another new word!
no brainer….Archimedes !!!!
We didn’t have a consensus, my 2 year old said either “Neeso” or “Ahmina” and my 4 year old said “Something”.
At some point in the blurry months right after our daughter was born, we started naming her toys. Russell the Bear (because she likes to wrestle him), Larry the Duck (because he has a tuft of hair like our old dog Larry), Big Carl the Caterpillar (in homage to Eric Carle), and Bob Vance the Elephant (“of Bob Vance Elephants”… yep, that’s an Office reference, folks), just to name a few.
So, now all the toys have names, and miraculously she (and we) remember them all! (Granny, however, finds it terribly annoying as she is “no good with names.”)
This little Aardvark would make a perfect Atticus. He looks very moral and upstanding. And, yes, the name may be a little pretentious, but I think our daughter, Harper, would love him regardless!
PS – Love the aesthetics of your posts… Thanks!
I think we’d have to name him Tangelo for two reasons. One it’s one of my favorite fruits and two my son would have so much fun saying it every time he’d want to cuddle it! I’ve never seen a little boy who loves stuffies so much!
Squidge, because he looks kind of squidgy.
very cute! this would be for my granddaughter and she would call it “hona” which is some name she made up and is calling all of her pets and dolls! yes, it looks like a orange hona for sure! but a cute one!
Astrid the Aardvark!
Barb
I’m a Grami with grown grandchildren but I would call this Aardvark
“Cuddles” because he looks like something soft and cuddley.
We would definitely name him Albert, after my wonderful hubby! Peyton would definitely love it!
hi
absolutely adorable. SHE looks like an Andie
In the spirit of the upcoming World Cup, we would name him “Sir Bobby Charlton” – but we would call him “Bobby” for short. The real Sir Bobby won the World Cup in 1966, and was named European Footballer of the year. He’s a favorite around this house, and this Aardvark would be a favorite as well!
Well, duh! Arnie of course!
a definite Butternut!
Fourmi… the French word for ANT.
Definitely ANTsel Adams
“Crush” because he makes me think of Orange Crush, which is perfect for impending summer!
I vote for Arnold the Ardvark. I found when my kids were small they liked trying to say big words. It helped to have the first letter of the name match the first letter of the name of the animal. Word association. Also, the corduroy skin makes him seem more grown up…thus the Arnold rather than Arnie.
Just my thoughts.
What a cutie!!!! I am in love.
Hi, Our family would enjoy calling your adorable Aardvark ” Alani” which is Hawaiian for orange. Many thanks, Cindi
Then again… Archibald means “genuine, bold, brave.” And this little guy is festooned in a very bold and brave orange.
But for a lady it must be Annabelle which means lovable.
Not like I have the final say in names around here… but I’d push for Aarvy.
Hey we decided in unison that this cute little guy should be called-
Zappitydoodle——–it’s a ants thing!
I would name it Courdy short for courdoroy. This lovely stuffy would belong to my newborn thats coming in July 2010.
I like Winston the stuffed! silly! xo

Audrey. Audrey the Aardvark. It sounds great! But my niece would probably end up calling him Oddie, since dr’s are hard to pronounce.
le.paradis.found at gmail dot com
Bernaard.
Would call him ‘Tapuz’. Hebrew for orange. He is soooo cute!
Mr. Arvid A Ardvark.
Arnie!
Her name is clearly Audrey. Audrey the Aardvark. But probably Audie for short. I love her.
Snout
Arthur…after our fave aardvark
Salamander: for some reason that popped in my head and I am going to go with it!
We would name the her auntie…our “Auntie Ardvark”!
Aubie the Aardvark!
I’d call him “Fraggle”. . . don’t ask me why! He just reminds me of a cute character from “Fraggle Rock” when I was a kid!
I’m sure my husband and I could come up with something dastardly cute, like Snoot, but knowing our 2-year old daughter and her penchant for thwarting our plans, I believe his name would end up being….whatever Aardvark is in Japanese. She knows we used to live there and now whatever she sees she has to know the ‘nihongo’ word for it…so our little fellow here would be…Tsuchibuta or Tsuchi-chan.
