November Giveaway!!

by The Pajama Squid creator on November 16, 2009

November Giveaway!!It is giveaway time, and this month’s giveaway is, “The Lump of Coal” by Lemony Snicket. I adore this book, and think it would be a perfect book for the holiday’s.

Plus the lump of coal’s facial expressions totally remind me of my brother’s around the holiday’s. Yes, yes I said that. My brother is a total grouch at the holiday’s and it takes all my holiday joy to get him to smile…okay more like feeding him treats and giving him gifts.

And in the words of Lemony Snicket’s – “Miracles can happen, even to those who are small, flammable and dressed all in black.”

indeed they can Mr. Snicket, indeed they can.

Just leave me a comment about if you are a grouch at the holiday’s or a total holiday joy giver (as i am). I will be choosing a winner at random on November 30.

and p.s. – don’t mention this blog post to my brother. he might make up some kind of lie that all my holiday joy giving, and listening to John Denver & The Muppets on repeat is the reason he is so grouchy at the holiday’s.

whatever! are you kidding me son? piggy pudding! hilarious – gets me every time, its figgy pudding miss piggy, figgy!

It’s funny. There was a time between my last few years as a teenager and having a son that I despised the holiday season. I could only see it as a commercial excuse to spend money. And then, when I had my son I found myself falling back into the beautiful memories of tradition, family, and wonderful aromas filling the house. Since then, I’ve seen that “miracles can happen”, and since he’s only 14 months old I’m able to focus on how I want to build our tradition of the holiday season. :) Great post! That book looks adorable! And I love your shop!

This book looks like the perfect gift for my son who is super eager to learn how to read. I love spreading the holiday cheer for every holiday that comes around! Without my encouragement to my husband our holidays would be a total let down. This year we have family surrounding us so hopefully he’ll be easier to get into the mood. Better not let your brother meet my hubby ;o) We’ve gotta keep the Grinch’s seperated ;o)

I love Christmas and the Christmas spirit. Grinchy spirits are not allowed in my house. I love the snow, the songs, the tree, the santa decor, the crazy tinsle that ends up all over my house, it’s all fabulous. Merry Christmas to all!

I unfortunately was a Christmas grouch. Trying to find presents for everyone, the dreaded task of going to the stores, wrapping everything the night before. However, taking care of twins has really opened my eyes to how amazing and wonderful this time of year is. Making new memories with them has reminded me what this time of year is all about: love. Happy Holidays!

I am a total holiday giver. I love the magic of season and the traditions. I love pulling out Christmas themed books that the kids read year after year, and it becomes part of the annual celebration.
Love your shop, too! Quality, unique things are great.

Total joy-giver here (at least, I hope so!) From listening to Bing Crosby to decking the tree, filling our advent calendar to reading “Night Before Christmas”, to mulling cider or stirring up hot cocoa, I am almost always in the holiday spirit! The one exception is when I’m addressing Christmas cards – my husband knows he better keep my cocoa mug full lest I get Grinchy (especially when trying to track down his side of the family’s ever-changing addresses!)

I feel blessed to have such a loving, caring, fun family – and not just on my side, but I love spending time with my in-laws! The holidays are all about family time and marking our growth. I can’t wait to break out the advent calendars!

I adore this book. But I think I adore your store more. I recently found it through the magnificent Grosgrain Fabulous and just couldn’t be more pleased!! What a lovely shop!!!

I always enjoy the Pajama Squid newsletter and the blog postings. Although most of my shopping is done online, I hope to make it into the store – soon! As you have all these wonderful sales going on, perhaps soon will be sooner rather than later.
Have a great day, and good luck with the walking to and from work. I think that is a great idea, weather permitting!

Great little book. Of course I love so many things in your store. I have my eye on a little pair of boots for Brittany’s baby… I just have to find out what size he is wearing now. Thank you for putting so much creativity and love into your little store!!

I am mostly cheerful at the holidays & enjoy the parties etc.
This year trying to celebrate with my two girls & life partner without too much materialism–only useful gifts (probably clothes and music) but candles and much joy.
I love your store and probably buy more of the Little Twig shampoo than anything else–but books and the umbrellas are great as well.

I am a giver! I love the holidays – put on the Christmas music and pour the hot chocolate! *contented little sigh*

What a fun book! I would love to read it to my boys. Happy holidays to everyone!

Usually I’m a happy holiday girl but since having a life altering experience this past September (brain surgery) I am from now on probably going to be a little over the top joyful! This year I’m determined to start traditions for me and my 2 year old little girl that will last forever. I can’t wait for ever joyful, fun loving, second of it!

I love the holidays and especially like giving gifts rather than getting. It is fun to pick stuff out and see everyone’s happiness.

I also love recommending great products (like those from The Pajama Squid) to readers via my holiday gift guide and then giving them away!

Greetings! Most years, I am filled with the Christmas Spirit! This year, our family is doing work for a children’s home our church sponsors. There is nothing like helping those less fortunate to see our blessings even more clearly!
Thanks, Cindi

i have a perfect balance of a love/hate relationship with the holidays. hate the commercialism and stress but love the nice family time together and festive vibe of it all. just trying to pare it down so i can have a better balance and learn to love it all again. (ps – my son loves books and i’m sure he’d love to get this under the tree!)

I just read this the other day to Cais and we loved it. :)

this looks like a book my granddaughters would like. the three year old is really into the grinch except she calls it the “grunched” . i have been trying to teach her the concept of being good or getting coal……had to relate it to her with coal being the stuff that is the barbque! i think this looks like a good read!

Joy November 28, 2009 at 11:31 am

I’m a total joy-giver. I have to be, my name is Joy! Even though I’ve spent 4 out of 7 Married Christmases apart from my husband (because of deployments via the Air Force), I still find ways to keep the Christmas magic. This year, he gets to be with us for Christmas! We have a 5 y.o. son with autism and a 3 y.o. diva. So, he’s so excited to “wait for Santa” with me :) We hope that we can win this great book to enjoy our Christmas together :)
