today i decided to walk to work.
it is a good 3o minute walk, and i thought it would be good for me to get outdoors again.
especially, after i received some blood test results back, and found that my Vitamin D levels were crazy low, and that made me pretty concerned.
with having the store i just never seem to get out anymore.
it is to the store, then to home.
i have been working so many hours for so long now, that i have just totally stopped taking care of myself, which i can imagine lots of people can relate to.
so today i decided to start taking care of myself again – thus the walking to my store.
i was dreading it a bit, but once i got going i really loved it. it was such a gorgeous fall morning, and i loved walking on top of the leaves and feeling the cool breeze against my face.
the outside is absolutely invigorating and i have missed it. fall is my favorite time of year, and i have been missing it.
sure when i had to conquer two rather steep hills i thought i was going to die – i started “cursing” and by cursing i mean grandma cursing with phrases like, “sweet mother of pearl” and “great scott.”
what can i say, i am adventist. we didn’t even have dances growing up, they were called, “banquets” you can’t expect much more from me than “great scott” or “good grief.”
i can’t say i will walk to my store everyday, but i am going to start adding it in my life – among other changes.
if you haven’t been outdoors in awhile, take my advice and just spend sometime out there, it is amazing how clear and refreshed one can feel after doing so.

Agree! What a great way to get vitamins and burn some calories, breath good air, and have some time to think.
I switched schools this year and now I teach at the elementary right by my house and #2 reason I asked to transfer was so that I could walk to work.
I LOVE it!!! You are lucky that you have the opportunity to walk too.
